I was born in Honolulu in 1946. I left when I was two. I returned in May 2003 for the first time. I returned again in August of the same year. The first time was with my husband. The second with three other women. In May, I actually cried when I spotted the islands from the airplane. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I have visited Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai.
One of my fantasies was to swim in waterfalls. I did that as often as I could.
I would love to go back again and spend even more time. I felt at home there....like I belonged. :)
Oh my, this waterfall is amazing! I would love to see one. I have been to Niagara Falls, but that is not the same as something like the one pictured above ~ I would love to swim in that pool below that falls. What a feeling that must be. It is nice that you have been back to Hawaii and I hope you can get back there again one day.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a great time on your Florida trip. How exciting it must have been to have all those horses surrounding the vehicle. WOW!
(:

There's nothing Hawaiian about me - all Polish, but I think if I were there at this waterfall, I'd feel at home too!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture, Carole. So glad you got to have a wonderful trip there!
ReplyDeleteI am not Hawaiin either, DEB....I am German and English....my Dad was stationed there right after the war. :) But I still had that connection. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how your place of birth can have such a strange hold on you? I feel like that with Greece, almost emotional, like coming home...even though I don't belong there any more.
ReplyDeleteNext time you are there, you make sure you spend lots of time in those waterfalls :-)
I loved Hawaii. What a beautiful place... like heaven on earth just as your picture shows. that looks like Fantasy Island's waterfall :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Pink, I am so glad someone else understands what I am describing. If I ever get back, I plan to?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jaime...I think so too. This is Rainbow falls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful waterfall, that is great that you were able to visit there twice!
ReplyDeleteDetail, movement and atmosphere all captured in one image. Enviable.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dave. :)
