What is the scariest thing you have been close to in the wild?
These wonderful creatures have been around for a very long time, so they must be doing something right. The St. Johns River is full of alligtors but still it is not always easy to spot one in the wild. This fellow was at the opening of where the river hit the run at Blue Springs, made famous by Jacques Cousteau in his TV documentary.
I've not been close to anything as scary as that.We are rather cloistered in this country, of course. Maybe the scariest was an irate farmer's wife with a shotgun!
ReplyDeleteThis gator looks great and quite big! Last year, we rented a canoe in the Okeefenokee Swamp and at times couldn't put our paddles into the water because the alligators were so close. All my photos are out of focus because my hands were shaking so badly. It was awesome and scary at the same time... :) Silke
ReplyDeleteLOL, Dave. You are too funny.:)
ReplyDeleteYou guys can have the alligators, I don't even want to think about being close to one.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Silke...sorry about your photos.
ReplyDeleteAAAhhhhh, Marlene...they are so cuddly. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL I am with Marlene, I would never want to be that close to one! But it sure makes a cool picture.
ReplyDeleteThis is fierce!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a lil' something waiting for you on blog. Drop by and check it out whenever you can!
Thanks, Noble...I think...LOL. Okay, I will be over to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI've never been close to a 'gator but my hubby is from South Florida and has seen quite a lot of them.
ReplyDeletePS - thanks for all your recent questions about my art journal. I answered them on my blog today.
I've been way too close to some crocodiles in Australia [shivers]. They even have salt water crocs that swim in the ocean! Those are the mean ones! So sharks, box jellyfish and crocs pretty much keep you out of the ocean there, LOL
ReplyDeleteoh wow.. never have been close to one of these... well except at the zoo, but there was glass and a fence between us! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks,Janet.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Creative. Yes, I believe Australia has the most deadly animals in the world.:)
Thanks, Valerie...LOL
