My Third Cat!!!

I have introduced you to Digit and to Grizzy. Now I will introduce you to Zorro. I named him for the fact that if you comb his fur on his back a certain way then you will find that a perfect 'Z' is written there. He is the only male cat in our household, and I might add the only cat who has been accepted with whole-heart into our home by the other cats. Digit can be a tyrant where the other cats are concerned, but she loves Zorro. Digit still tries to rule the roost, however. :)

Zorro was another rescue kitty. He was dumped in a public park and made his way to the house next to the park where I happened to be visiting my friends. He walked up to their sliding glass doors and started meowing. When I saw him, it was love at first sight. There was a chemistry there. Even though I knew my husband did not want another cat, he was away at work, so I brought him home and told my husband about him over the phone. Luckily, he fell for Zorro too. He was about 8 months old when he found him.

He is a sweet cat. He is so easy going and when he was young he liked being the center of attention at any party. I remember when we had a baby shower for my daughter, he jumped right into the middle of the packages and scoped everything out. Then, he went to each and every person to get petted. But, as he as aged he has become a bit more reserved but still remains a very sweet cat.

  1. He is gorgeous! And what a lovely story about how he came to you, sometimes it is just meant to be, isn't it?

I love the way they sleep with one paw dangling down, it's just natural to them and yet at the same time it looks like they're posing, bless 'em.

  4. Zorro is such a cutie! It breaks my heart that there are so many cats and dogs who get dumped off like that. People think that stray cats are suited to live in the wild, but they are wrong, as you already know!

  6. He's beautiful. He reminds me of my cat Muffin, and my cat Phoenix. That white fur against the grey stripes . Lovely. How could we ever have a household w/o cats? I fear being very elderly and someone taking away my animals. It would break my heart.

  7. I know what you mean, Imelda. I was just watching the news today and because of the recession, the shelters are filling up. I want to go out and get more...but four is my limit. :)

  9. I love your art, but I love the stories of your cats too! I have 2 cats and the first cat was beside herself for 8 months - tried to get us to get rid of him. He only had affection for her (as in "I'll hold your head down and clean it - you seem to have missed a spot..."). Anyway, I'll be checking back in!
