Art in My Home: Post #1

I live in my office/occasional guest room.  I work on my computer, I watch TV, and I read in this room.  It is my room.  A place for me to escape.

My husband's desk computer is in here too, so he visits several times a day.  He also has his own room which we call the library.  I will share his walls with you as well.  I will tell you more about his room when we get there.  Right now I am concentrating on my room. :)  I can sit in this room and look straight out over our second story deck out into the woods behind our home.  I also have a large corner window which focuses on the woods and on my bird feeder.  The feeder is on a pulley because it is way off the ground.  When I sit in my computer chair, the wall to my left is where I am going to start.  Today I am focusing on a portion of this wall.  It is the longest wall in my room and is packed with art.

I am crazy about wildlife and cats.  Here is a grouping showing an alligator, a bobcat, an air plant, another bobcat and a tabby.

This is actually a water color and not a photograph.  I just can not believe this.  This man is fabulous.  He is a well known Florida cat artist.  His name is Drew Strouble.  I have several things of his.
This is a photograph by Scott Jeffreys.  I love how this cat is up in the trees.
This is a photograph I took of an air plant growing on a log.  It is one of my first photographs with the mindset of me thinking about becoming a photographer.  I took it years ago.  I was in a boat on the St. Johns river here in Central Florida.
This is an amazing pencil drawing done by Rock Bakkan.  I wish you could see the detail.  It is fabulous.
This is another photograph I took of a wild alligator.  I was again on the St. Johns river in a boat when I shot this.  At the time I did not have a zoom lens.  We were in a very small boat with a trolling motor.  My husband was not happy when I insisted on getting closer and closer.  This was a big gator. LOL...well we survived. :)
Well, this is the end of my first post on this subject.  I hope you enjoyed it.  If you did, please show this link to your friends and have them drop by.  Thanks so much.  This will be a series but I will not necessarily post every day but when I find the time, but I will let my favorite threads know when I have posted.

  3. Wow I love your art on your walls so far, I love Wildlife and just adore those bobcats. Years ago in school I did projects for all of the wild cats, had 1 large poster board per big cat and had them all up on the wall. It was so much fun learning about them.

Beautiful artwork, and great photography. It is so much fun to frame your own work!

This is such a fun topic.
