Kids or Cats...What is the difference?

Grizzy

Zorro

I have four cats that must be cared for when I go to visit my brother after Christmas for about 5 days.  We have a pet sitter we like, but as the kitties have aged problems have developed.

Grizzy is 15 years old and she has Thyroid problems and High Blood Pressure problems.  She has to have medicine put in her ears three times a day.

Digit is 14 years old and has diabetes.  She has to have two shots each day.

Zorro is still healthy and so is Smoky.

Digit is out biggest concern as she has always been feisty.  We were not sure if the Pet Setter would be able to control her in order to give her her shots.  She is a very strange kitty.  So, we had the Pet Sitter come over three nights in a row to be trained, to try herself, and to come when we were gone to try it all by herself.

I am delighted to tell you that all went well and Digit accepted her giving her her shots.  So, off we will go to my brothers free of worries...or at least almost free from worries.

Like I said.....pets can become your kids.....just look at our Vet bills, Pet Sitter Bills, and medication bills.  Maybe our wonderful congress should pass a health care plan for animals. :)

  1. Yes, pets are a lot like kids, so hard to travel when you have them! I hope everything will go well, have a wonderful time!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  3. I love your kitties, especially Grizzly. Sometimes when we're in a restaurant, we'll hear a little kid yelp or yipe and it sounds so much like Muffin!

I hope you had a good time at your brother's house!

  4. So glad you have someone you can trust and that Digit understood the need to cooperate. I agree that cats (pets) do become our kids. Your cats are so lucky to have you!
