Scrapbooking Night!

Tonight I will have 12 girls over to scrapbook. Half of us are in our sixties and half of us are in our Thirties. Guess which I am....LOL....nevermind. :)

The Thirties got together and asked me to host a monthly scrapbooking group. I knew it would be fun, so I did just that. I knew for the girls it was a chance to get away from it all for a few hours.....no kids, no husbands.....a safe place to talk, to share. Their conversations usually focus around their husbands, their kids, books and movies, and yes, even scrapbooking. :)

And we love to share recipes.

Along the way, I started to bring in my friends and it is just such an interesting mix. The older ladies also talk of husbands, and usually grandkids, or just what is happening in their lives. We, however, are not really escaping.....well maybe we are......we all call it "playing."

By whatever name you call it, it is fun for all of us. I know the older ladies get a real kick out of the younger ones. Can you believe I've been invited to the midnight showing of NEW MOON....and I am going too....even if they do have to nudge me awake occassionally. These young ones keep you on your toes. Well, they introduced me to the book series TWILIGT which I practically inhaled....so now I am hooked and looking forward to each movie.

  1. haha, you've mentioned your ladies night before and again I say what fun!!! i think it would be just great to get together with like minded people and other women-folk. as my hubby would say a cluck fest.

I too loved the Twilight books! I haven't seen the movies yet, I don't want to be disappointed. But I will watch them on the movie channels when they come out. have fun!

  2. Carole sounds fun - Enjoy your late night movie, I don't think I could do that, I have trouble staying awake past 10:30

  4. Sounds like fun. I keep threatening to get a group of painters together on a regular basis. Hubby has requested I make it a day group so he doesn't need to find a hiding place!
