Julie and Julia!

I went to the movies today and came out inspired in so many ways.

First of all, the life of Julia Childs was so interesting and I was happy she had a good happy life with a wonderful husband.

Secondly, I really admired this young girl who was determined to cook her way through Julia's cookbook in one year and blog about it. She ended up with a book and a movie. WOW!

Thirdly, I loved the way she wrote her blog. I thought of all of us out here in the Blogosphere. I know we all want to know how we can make our blogs more interesting to our readers. I feel Julie did it by incorporating her personal life and feelings into her blog. I have tried to do that, but I do not know how successful I am at that part.

I share my art and my writing and my photography. Through my writing you can learn a lot about me. I wonder if that is true for most writers.

Anyway, go see that movie. It was fabulous.

  2. I wonder about that too....How much personal stuff to share in your blog. I don't have a very glamorous life, so I think I walk a fine line between entertaining and boring folks! Glad you liked the movie! I haven't seen it yet, but one of our neighbor's is friends with the producers. He got a few of the props for his daughter's nanny, including the diploma of Julia's in the movie. He raved about how good the movie would be. I'm glad it DID turn out to be as inspiring as he said it was.

  4. Whether it's in writing or through imagery, I think artists share a lot of themselves through their art.

This movie hasn't arrived here yet.

  6. This movie looked great to me, I'm glad to hear people are liking it. I agree with Gallery Juana... and you Carole it is sometimes hard for me to reveal my truthful thoughts and feelings without editing them for fear of what people may think. silly, I know.

  7. Unfortunately, Jaime, that is the climate we live in this day and age. I always think twice before putting anything on my blog. So don't feel badly about that.

  9. I saw the preview and it looks quite sweet. I think I will have to try and convince my husband to go with me now... looks like Meryl Streep does a good job. :)

  10. You will love it, Pam.

Valerie, Meryl Streep is just amazing really. She is one of those actors that does not play herself if you know what I mean.
