Jersey Boys Life Lesson!

I went to see Jersey Boys in Orlando, Florida the other night with a girlfriend. I was really looking forward to it as it would take me back in time to the music I loved. Music can be a kind of 'time machine' so don't tell me they do not exist. :)

Jersey Boys is based of the life of Franky Valli and the Four Seasons. I had no idea it would turn out to be such an exciting night. For one thing we could find no parking because the Orlando Magic (basketball) was playing that night and all the usual parking areas were full.

We ended up about three blocks away and time was running out to make the musical. So, we opted to put our lives in the hands of a bicyclist who pulled a small cart behind him. We jumped aboard and held our breath.

Picture the Orlando traffic. Picture us as a tiny helpless speck flying in and out and between cars. We were surrounded. We flew through intersections too. But in five minutes we were there safe and sound. I did not start laughing until my feet were securely on the ground again. What a rush! We even did it again to get back to our car after the show. Of course, we were out $20 for the two rides.

We were seated safely inside at 7:50 or the 8:00 performance. It was a tremendous production. We both enjoyed every minute of it and I highly recommend this musical to tall of you. But, I learned something too that we sometimes forget. Family is everything.

So many times successful people are so caught up with making money and getting ahead that they end up sacrificing everything that is important to achieve their fame or wealth or whatever.

Too often they never spend quality time with their families and a lot of times they stray. They lose everything that is important and then they start over again. This may happen several times. And, there is always collatoral damage, usually the children.

So give thanks each day for that family of yours and remember the important things in life and keep the family on the front burner even if it means having a little less stuff.
